Definitions
Larger Than Life Global Discussion Forums (hereafter called LTL) is a non-profitable organization that comprises three parts: an informational website with a number of informational webpages, a live PHP chatroom, and a number of internet discussion forums.
The organization has within its membership people of every race, creed, and color from all over the world. Its purpose is to provide room for discussion, news, and entertainment.
Mechanisms of Content: News/and/or Story or Article Submissions, User Chat Rooms, Bulletin Boards, Email, Messenger Systems, Journals, Blogs and Forums, hereafter called MOC.
Usage of LTL in accordance with COPPA (The Children's Online Protection Policy Act)
The leadership of LTL cannot prohibit minors from visiting the MOC. MOC use must rely on parents, guardians and those responsible for supervising children under 13 to decide which materials are appropriate for such children to contribute, view and participate in.
Member Accounts
When you register as a member of LTL, you must choose a username and password that is unique to you. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the username and password, and you are responsible for all activities that occur under your username and password. Furthermore the use of more then one username is strictly prohibited: violation of this rule will result in a permanent denial of access to the MOC. The username must not be offensive, abusive or pornographic of nature. Violation will result in deletion without further notice.
LTL reserves the right of deleting, modifying, terminating, or suspending any member account with or without reason at our sole discretion. You agree to notify LTL of any unauthorized use of your username and password or any other breach of security.
Modification rights and/or duties
Moderators and administrators have the ability to remove or edit objectionable messages from the MOC and will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if in their judgment they should determine that removal or modification is necessary. As this is a manual process, however, members should understand that LTL moderators and administrators may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately or they may overlook such messages. The administrators and moderators are not obligated to explain the reasons behind their decisions to edit or remove messages from the MOC to the LTL members.
It is considered good membership to report violations of the MOC rules with respect to the content of the messages and/or behavior of its members as soon as they occur: this will help the leadership of LTL to maintain the integrity and standard of quality of the MOC.
Larger Than Life Global Discussion Forums Organizational Rights
The leadership of LTL has the exclusive right to modify, abridge and/or change this disclaimer with or without notification at any time.
LTL leadership may - but is not obligated to - monitor and/or review any areas where members transmit or post communications or communicate solely with each other, including, but not limited to private messages, chat rooms, email, bulletin boards or other user forums, and the content of any such communications. LTL however, will accept no liability related to the content of any such communications, whether or not arising under the laws of copyright, libel, privacy, obscenity, or otherwise. By uploading materials to all MOC or submitting any materials to the MOC, the member automatically grants (or warrants that the owner of such rights has expressly granted) LTL a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from and distribute such materials or incorporate such materials into any form, medium, or technology now known or later developed throughout the universe. In addition, the member warrants that all so-called "moral rights" in those materials have been waived. "Forum" means letters, e-mails or any other types of communications to the editors, Webmaster(s), visitors, or members of LTL, and messages posted in connection with LTL, discussions, news, or articles. Members are obligated not to upload to, distribute through, or otherwise publish through any of the MOC any content which is libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, illegal, or otherwise objectionable that would constitute or encourage a criminal offense, violate the rights of any party, or that would otherwise give rise to liability or violates any international law. The MOC on LTL shall be used only in a non-commercial manner by members and visitors. You shall not, without express written approval from the LTL leadership, distribute or otherwise publish any material containing any solicitation of funds, promotion, advertising, or solicitation for goods or services. Any unauthorized publication or distribution of content from Larger Than Life Global Discussion Forums may result in criminal prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
Disclaimer of Warranty
Unless otherwise explicitly stated, the materials on LTL are provided "as is". All express or implied conditions, representations and warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, are disclaimed, except to the extent that such disclaimers are held to be legally invalid by international law.
LTL makes no representations, warranties, or guaranties as to the quality, suitability, truth, accuracy or completeness of any of the materials contained on the website. Any questions regarding the materials should be directed to the providers of such materials.
Limitation of Liability
LTL shall not be liable for any damages suffered as a result of using, modifying, contributing, copying, distributing, or downloading the materials on this website. In no event shall LTL be liable for any indirect, punitive, special, incidental, or consequential damage (including loss of business, revenue, profits, use, data or other economic advantage) however it arises, whether for breach or in tort, even if Larger-Than-Life.org/ has been previously advised of the possibility of such damage.
Members have sole responsibility for adequate protection and backup of data and/or equipment used in connection with LTL and will not make a claim against LTL for any lost data, re-run time, inaccurate outputs, work delays or lost profits resulting from the use of any of the materials, as well as any recommendations of any of the aforementioned whether made directly or indirect. You agree to hold LTL harmless from, and you thereby establish covenant not to sue LTL for, any claims based on using the environment of mechanisms of content.
Forum Rules
1.) Although LTL is not responsible for copyright infringements, the respective administrators and moderators keep a watchful eye. Users may not post articles in full on the forums unless that article belongs to the respective user, the name and source of the original author have been clearly mentioned, or the author permitted use of his work (the LTL leadership will ask for proof of this permission). Threads or posts violating international copyright laws will be deleted with haste. Continual violation of copyright will result in an IP ban and an account deletion.
2a.) Excessive use of obscene language and/or name calling is forbidden. Debate with intelligence and tolerance. Insulting bantering between members can result in banning or account deletion. Furthermore, posting of shocking, violent or sexually offensive imagery is prohibited, and will be punished promptly to the fullest extent which means prompt and permanent denial of access to the forums to the offending poster/member.
2b.) Advocating racism or blunt displays of prejudice towards other culture, creed or race will be also be punished harshly.
3.) No spamming. This means no solicitation of your personal websites or communities. This also means no propaganda. Violations will be punishable to the fullest extent.
4.) No SMS-style language. As this is an international site, we want people from ALL countries in the world to be able to read your posts. Abbreviations, as used in SMS-style language are hard to read and unnecessary. Posts where SMS-style language was used, will be deleted as it is too much work to edit them. Use of proper spelling and punctuation is highly valued on LTL, all in the name of readability.
